Dublin

For our first Discovery Weekend of the year, all roads in Ireland head to the capital – Dublin! There are many ways to get to know the city, but our group activity could end with you winning a prize! A scavenger hunt through one of the most historic centres of the city will lead you through the stunning streets of Dublin. Afterwards, stroll through the peaceful and lovely St Stephen’s Green before heading over to the shopping centre! But with a whole weekend to enjoy the city, there is so much you can discover. Whether it’s one of Dublin’s many museums, such as the Little Museum of Dublin or the National gallery, or checking out sights like the Spire, Ha’penny Bridge, and the statue of Molly Malone, the things to do here are endless!

Galway

Join us for some holiday spirit in the beautiful city of Galway! This harbour city on the west coast is a popular hot spot for live Irish folk music – so don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes if you fancy a jig! The city is scattered with stone-clad cafes, boutique shops, and a variety of local art galleries – all along the winding lanes within the medieval city walls. Some of the top sights include the Spanish Arch, the Galway Cathedral, and Eyre Square – home to the famous festive Christmas Market!

Cork

The new year brings us a new Discovery Weekend to Cork – a stunning city of shops and waterways. It has several charming nicknames such as “Ireland’s second city” and the “real capital of Ireland”, but the real charm of the city comes with the natural blend of its youthful hipster scene and the traditional history. With lots of coffee bars and high street shops throughout the city centre, all surrounded by the calming Cork waterways, there is plenty to do and see. Cork is also home to an exciting entertainment complex where we will come together as a group for bowling, ping pong, and karaoke!

Killarney

A bank holiday is the perfect time to stretch our Discovery Weekend over 3 days! And as we move closer to the summer, it’s time to get back into nature and (hopefully) into some sunshine! Situated near a national park and the famous dingle peninsula, Killarney is considered one of Ireland’s most picturesque towns and worth a visit! For this trip, we will be heading west to the Dingle Peninsula and the famous Inch Beach where you will be able to have a surfing lesson or two! If the weather permits, we’ll continue along the stunning coastline to check out more of what the Dingle Peninsula has to offer. Don’t miss out on making unforgettable memories with your EF exchange friends on this last trip of the year before Farewell Days.
